This message is for everyone who was so kind to my family and I during this profoundly sad time. My Dad was a very special man. He was full of love,he was handsome and strong but mostly he was ours. Our rock, our strength and our whole heart. It is difficult to imagine that he is gone, but we draw some comfort in the fact that everyone has a wonderful and warm memory of how he helped them or simply just made them laugh. He made his mark that way, with love and laughter. He would have been proud. We love him and miss him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul and Phyllis through Ellie and Morty Cohen at work. I attended Paul's Bar Mitzvah which was a joyous occasion. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Phyllis and the entire family.

Story shared: Uncle Paul Always Comes Back... Stronger

I'll never forget Uncle Paul and my Dad talking baseball like they loved to do so many times when I was a kid and a young adult. One thing Uncle Paul said that, for some reason, really stuck with me, was words to the effect, "You see a guy win the MVP award and then the next time you see him do it, it's 7 or 8 years later... that's the mark of a really great ballplayer." The veteran who handles life's ups and downs and comes back stronger. Year after year. This is what Uncle Paul means to me. Whether it was traumatic injury, economic dislocation, people letting him down, disease... he'd always pick himself up, dust himself off, and start all over again... unfazed. And he'd always pick me up. Figuratively... and literally. And give me a great bear hug squeeze, I dubbed, "The Squooshie." Even when I was fully grown. Like at my wedding! Today, I carry on his tradition with my son, though, at 13, he's already taller than me. Aunt Phyllis, Cousin Maura, Cousin Marjory. You are stronger today for having him in your life all these years. More importantly, he's at peace, in heaven... life's greatest reward. He will always be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
